I’m traveling the world, meeting some amazing people and seeing some wonderful things. My passions are traveling, beekeeping, and creating videos. I decided to create Tree City Traveler to share some of my favorite experiences. Make sure to subscribe and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments.

Why do I travel?

Ultimate frisbee teams from the U.S. and Germany coming together as one.

Ultimately, I travel to meet people. I like to meet people from different cultures and learn about what life is like from their perspective. There are so many people in this world, each with different ideas and viewpoints. Everyone has their own unique story, and when I travel I like to talk with the locals to learn from them.

I like to plan my trips around opportunities I find on websites like WWOOF or Workaway. I have found volunteer positions to live and work with local people across the globe. This is how I found my next adventure: Teaching English in Ukraine.

People are generally good. If you are good to people and show a real interest in what they are saying, they will be good back. You need to give respect to get respect.

Bees?

Save the bees, plant more trees, and clean the seas. What can I say? I love the bees (all bees, not just the honey bees) and I love honey. I learned about beekeeping during an internship at Boise State University. I've met a lot of local Idaho bee keepers and was always fascinated about how people from the same area had such different approaches. I was taught the number one rule in beekeeping was, well, "There are no rules in beekeeping."

Since then, I have traveled to Germany and Jamaica, where I learned about the different approaches to beekeeping. There have been a lot of similarities, as well as some big differences. From now on, during my travels, I am making it a goal to visit a beekeeper everywhere that I travel. I hope to be able to document and share different techniques that I find from across the globe.
